Why have a website about Tysons Buildings, Developments, and More?
Over the years there has been quite a bit of interest in Tysons but that interest exploded in recent years with arrival of "Metro" rail and the move by Fairfax County to officially designate and convert Tysons Corner from a jumbled mess of a Suburban office park and sprawling parking lots and strip malls of an Edge City (as so aptly named by Author Joel Garreau) into a walkable, cultural, urbanized city. Although there is a lot of individual information about Tysons development and buildings there seemed to be no single detailed source or searchable/filtered/sorted database of more detailed building info such as heights, size, and other criteria.

When did Tysons start?
By most historical accounts and references Tysons became of the same name in the 1850's when a gentleman by the name of William Tysons (from nearby Maryland) purchased a tract of land here and he later became the postmaster of the Peach Grove Post office but there was really nothing much else here but for a crossroads and mainly open fields and rolling meadows.
